![]() As a bonus, our kids ran into a Long Island camp friend which made them long for the summer (239 days until camp). There was a small party utilizing one side of the restaurant, and many families partaking in one of the last summer evenings before the kids went back to school. ![]() Overall, the restaurant had plenty of diners, but tables were available and we were able to be seated on our own timetable (after our initial $5 drinks at the bar). Surprisingly, there were no mother tales to tell, though, one grandparent was very excited about the happy hour drink specials.Ī Sunday at MoCA with three generations was a positive experience. Our group included my mother-in-law, father-in-law, my spouse, our children, and yes, my mom. Recently, I went back to MoCA again, choosing the Sunday night grandparent option as my dining choice. And, our vouchers were honored which made the evening even more pleasurable. We had a great round table for six, and everyone enjoyed the food as well as the service. I did hold off going back to MoCA until my in-laws persuaded us to go back in the spring on a Sunday night with the kids. While the food and ambience were delightful, the service was definitely frustrating, despite the manager offering our party complimentary appetizers on a future date. I was there one evening last year on a Saturday which was crowded, and waited approximately an hour after our reservation to be seated. While I truly appreciate the décor at MoCA, I have had mixed reviews during my few dining experiences. I’ve been to MoCA on a few occasions, and am pleasantly surprised with the décor each time I visit this hot spot (though, I’m not really sure why the C and A are capitalized, but I’ll go with the flow). Drapery is decorated across the high ceilings, there are tables of varying sizes, and a sushi bar located at the back of the restaurant. The large cherry blossom trees are prevalent throughout the spacious dining room which is filled with large booths seating four to six guests. Upon entry, you are presented with a circular marble bar with multiple televisions alongside a beautiful lounge and seating area for cocktails and sidewalk viewing. MoCA Asian Bistro, located in the Woodbury Village Shopping Center, is a stunning Asian fusion restaurant (there are also locations in Forest Hills and Hewlett). My only disappointment is that there isn’t one in London, United Kingdom! When we return to New York. I can’t recommend this restaurant high enough. I drank the Platinum Sushi (720 ml) with our friends and it was excellent! I understand they also have a karaoke room at the back and a further separate secluded dining room. We had eaten so much do unfortunately did not save room for desert so can’t comment. Our friends had the fillet mignon and sons extra sushi rolls which looked excellent and they complimented their dishes. ![]() We also had vegetable pineapple fried rice (make sure you ask for no chicken if you want it completely vegetarian) and lo mein vegetable noodles. one of the best sushi rolls I’ve ever tasted!! For the main course I shared the Chilean Sea Bass with my wife. they have a number of signature sushi rolls and dishes and I highly recommend these! My wife and I share mini vegetable egg rolls (hot), salmon and avocado inside out sushi and the ‘special’ Naruto roll - a combination of Salmon, tuna, yellowtail wrapped in Cucumber with a House vinegar dressing. The menu is so varied with many different options and with so much to choose from I wanted to try a bit of everything but that was not possible. Firstly, drinking water quality and taste varies throughout USA but the iced tap water here was perfect. Upon sitting down we were supplied with menus and asked for a drink. The table and chairs were comfortable and everything smartly presented. The staff welcoming were courteous, polite and friendly. The ambience and decor is beautiful, clean and authentic. Staying with very good friends in Long Island we visited this restaurant on a Thursday evening and WOW! What a fantastic restaurant and experience.
